As of late, I have become obsessed with collecting reusable shopping bags. I buy one wherever I shop, whether I come into the store with one or not. I simply can’t help myself. I intend to give them as Christmas presents to my office mates this year; that way I kill two birds with one stone. I am being price conscious and hopefully helping individuals in my life be more environmentally conscious
.
This weekend I will be on my way to Whole Foods to buy the new bag they have teamed up with Cheryl Crowe to design.
“I am a big believer in doing what you can, even if it’s something as small as reducing the amount of plastic we each use daily that ends up in landfills, whether it is plastic bags, water bottles or product packaging. I’m so happy to be working with Whole Foods Market on this project,” said Sheryl Crow.
As a matter of fact, they have designed the bag in two sizes…awesome!
This limited edition bag, which features a collection of beautiful earth tones, is made from 80 percent post-consumer recycled plastic bottles and will be available from Oct. 15 through the holiday season. Each bag represents approximately four 20-ounce plastic bottles. The Company is offering two sizes for the first time: large (14 x 15.5 x
and small (9.5 x 12 x 7.5) which retail for an unbeatable 99 cents and 79 cents, respectively.
Most of the bags from your local grocers or drugstore are very inexpensive at 99¢, but there are more expensive bags that are great. Here is a list:
These are just a few of my favorites, there are many others to choose from; Lands End has a great canvass bag that would be a great reusable grocery bag.

I’ve found that the best reusable bags on the market today are RuMe Bags, http://www.rumebags.com
They have the box-stitched design similar to a paper bag so goods can be easily loaded; they have double-stitched seams and patterned bags are on both sides.
Most importantly, they’re made in South Korea in a Fair Trade Factory, instead of China - like Envirosax, Baggu and the other $0.99 bags.
Thanks Jane!
Since I am new to being green I am always open to better products that don’t have human rights violations attached to them.
Be well, CF
